Exhibitors are only required to enter numbered classes below. Please state name of each pony on entry form; number and layout of double/single pens required.
TIMES – Ridden Classes will start at 8.30am. In-Hand classes will start immediately after Ridden Classes have finished. In hand classes in both rings will run concurrently (e.g. both Stallion classes, will start at the same time, then, neither Gelding class will start until both Stallion classes have finished).
If there is enough time and interest, we will run a few gymkhana games. This will run after the Shetland Pony Championship has been judged. This will be enter on the day, with entry fees to be paid up in cash to the stewards before classes commence.

HORSE and PONY PASSPORTS ARE MANDATORY in Scotland and MUST accompany the animal when it is moved, including for competition or showing at county shows. Please make sure these are available for inspection if requested.
RULES - Classes must be confined to SPS-BS registered ponies. Ponies must be named on the entry form and in the catalogue if one is produced. Society rosettes must only be given to ponies registered with the Society or to foals eligible for registration. Three-year-old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the Show. To enter a stallion in ANY class (in-hand or performance) at an affiliated show, entire males aged 4 years old and over must have an “S” number and have been successfully through either the SPS-BS Stallion assessment prior to 2006 or the current SPS-BS Voluntary Veterinary Examination. Ridden stallions MUST display a stallion bridle badge. In hand colts/stallions of two years old or over must be shown bitted and are advised to display a colt or stallion bridle badge, these are available to purchase from the SPS-BS. 12There must be no colts or stallions in Young Handlers classes. Young Handlers must be a minimum of 3 years of age on the day of the show. Children under 14 years old may not show colts (excluding foals) or Stallions in In-hand classes. Children aged under 12 years old on the day of their class may not show a stallion in ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats conforming to current British Safety standards must be worn, correctly secured, by all handlers aged 14 years or under in In-hand classes. For Health & Safety purposes judges and exhibitors must remain standing whilst in the ring when showing ponies. KNEELING IS NOT PERMITTED. Hard hats conforming to current British Safety standards must be worn, correctly secured, by all exhibitors, irrespective of age, in ridden classes. Ridden and driven ponies must be 4 years old or over. In ridden Classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the ring, both pony and rider must leave the ring, rider dismounted, and take no further part. Ridden Shetland Ponies may also enter the Working Hunter in the Horse & Ponies Ring later on the show day but MUST NOT cross the Showground until permitted and accompanied by a steward during the lunch break.
